Reconfiguration, Relocation, and School Status

In January 2007, the Board of Education voted to “identify a suitable building for CSS to occupy in Fall 2008” with space to operate as an independent focus school and with “sufficient space to grow to a K-8 of 400-600 students.”

This is great news for our growing community!

These are goals that we have been working toward for over three years, and we are grateful for the opportunity to bring our tested philosophy to more children within PPS. In the fall of 2007, we will continue in our current location at Bridger Elementary School, adding a 7th grade class. In the fall of 2008, we will add an 8th grade class in a new location and undergo transformation to full-school status.

We expect the new location to be chosen by August 30, 2007. A committee of CSS staff and parents is currently working closely with the superintendent and her staff to do the following:

• Identify a new location
• Apply for full-school status
• Make the transition for our students go smoothly
