CSS PTA

The parent group and related committees relate to the goals specific to the CSS program and are generally separate from Bridger School as a whole. The following is a general overview of duties that may be further explained in greater detail.

1. PARENT GROUP

Chair

  • Sets the agenda for each Parent Group meeting.
  • Moderates meetings of the groups.
  • Acts as a liaison between CSS parents, teachers and the school principal.
  • Facilitates committee activity.
  • Works with committees and class representatives to meet concerns and communicate Parent Group ideas and goals.

Secretary

  • Takes notes at Parent Group meetings.
  • Assists Chair with other tasks as needed.

Treasurer

  • Works with others in the Parent Group to create a budget for CSS funds.
  • Receives reimbursement requests and pays bills.
  • Keeps the checkbook balanced and writes checks for CSS needs.
  • Produces regular accounting reports.

2. CSS PARENT SITE COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVES
The Site Council Representatives represents CSS interests in the Site Council. This Site council is a school governing body that is made up of the principal, parents, teachers and staff of both programs.

  • Meets every fourth Tuesday.
  • Two parents are elected in October.

3. COMMITTEES
Each committee has one chair who represents the committee to the parent group. The chair will facilitate and plan meetings for their committee as well as follow up on meeting their goals.

  • Fundraising: annual auction or other fundraisers for CSS
  • Admissions: the School Fair and Information Nights, school tour scheduling and marketing.
  • Programs: Researches and arranges possible enrichment activities such as Art, Dance, music, languages etc.
  • Events Planning: CSS school socials, special events, potlucks etc.
  • Communications: website, newsletter, directory and distribution.
