Parents are a vital part of our school program. Family commitment enriches our experience and the experience of our children. Our goal and expectation is to have a high level of participation among our families. We strive for quality and the smooth operation of our program.

CLASSROOM

• Will schedule and moderate regular class meetings where parent's and teacher's ideas and concerns will be discussed.
• Brings these concerns to the Parent Group as appropriate.
• Usually the class rep will be a veteran parent who will be able to support and orient new parents to the program.
• Informs the class about upcoming special events at the school and in the classroom.
• Gather contact information to create class phone and e-mail list

2. Classroom and teacher support is where all parents can volunteer their time in a way that suits their schedule and interests. This includes any help that a parent can lend to his or her child's teacher in the classroom. This may include:

• Helping children during class with reading, writing, math, etc.
• Working on special projects and events as needed by the teacher.
• Joining the class on field trips.
• Helping the teacher with paperwork, such as making copies, organizing materials or displaying artwork.
• Recruiting volunteers for field trips and class projects, organizing parties or collecting phone numbers for a class directory.
• Talk to your child's teacher about your interests and desire to help.
