Second Grade Teacher Brandi Miller

I recently completed my licensing requirements and Masters of Education through Portland State University. I did my student teaching at the Creative Science School in second and fifth grade classrooms with Ashley Collins and David Lifton as my cooperating teachers.

My father was in the military so I traveled quite a bit growing up and lived in Germany for five years. I have two daughters, Meghan who is 7, and Loghan who is 2. I have been together with my wonderful husband Paul for 12 years. My daughter Meghan also attends the Creative Science School and will be in the second grade.

This will be my first year teaching second grade at the Creative Science School but I already feel at home. I feel lucky to come into a school where I already feel connected to the staff, students and their families. The CSS program embraces a philosophy about teaching that is identical to my own beliefs about education. I look forward to the coming year and appreciate everyone’s encouragement and support.
