It really helps if each Literature Circle has as group leader. A couple parents have agreed to lead a Lit Circle. This entails coming in to the classroom once a week for about 40 minutes to work with your group. It would be great to have one or two more adult group leaders, if this interests you please tell me. Days are flexible but if you can come Thursday or Friday morning that would be best. OCTOBER BOOK REVIEWSMonday October 31st is presentation day for the Biography Book Reviews. Students are encouraged to dress as their subject, become their subject, for the presentations. We’ll share them in the afternoon and I think some refreshments would be wonderful. If you’d like to contribute something please keep healthy foods in mind (cider, pretzels, fruit, etc.), Please let me know if you are bringing something so I can plan for the day. FIELD TRIPSWe had a wonderful trip to Wildwood this week, a BIG thanks to all the parents who drove and came along on the trip. We couldn’t do it without you! The students spent the day in the forest and river testing various factors
that effect whether or not animals (salmon in particular) could live there.
Ask you child what they discovered and what it might mean for the health
of the environment. If you want to talk to me you can contact me by phone or email: David Lifton 503-916-6336 or dlifton@pps.k12.or.us |
