Our class basket, “Mom’s Afternoon of Leisure” is filling up with quite the assortment of goodies. The students worked these past two weeks on the class Project. I must say it is stunning, and I haven’t even seen the finished piece. Of course there is still time to invite your friends, co-workers, relatives or neighbors to share a fun evening at our auction fundraiser. COLONIAL I-SEARCHAfter taking a poll of the class I decide to extend the deadline for the I-Search reports to Monday March 6th. This gives everyone the extra weekend to put together their best work. FIELD TRIPSNext Friday we are going to see the play of “The Giver”. Permission slips went home Tuesday and many are already returned. I do have three parents signed up to chaperone, but there is room if someone else wants to join us. TESTINGThis week I sent home the results of our first two State Tests. As I mentioned in my note the students have the opportunity to take both the Reading & Math tests again, and only the higher of their scores will count. Fifth graders also take a Science test later this year. |
