CLASS NEWS

As part of our Storyline Mandiy (intern teacher) taught lessons on Colonial era quilting and painting. The students studied examples of these two mediums and then created their own versions of them.

Our colonial village is taking shape with shops and houses. Soon life in the village will commence with many aspects of the period worked into it.

We began a new math unit, Name That Portion, which is all about fractions, decimals and percents. One of the first things we did was list everyday use of fractions, decimals, and percents. At home or around town try pointing out these uses to your child.

CSS AUCTION

MISCELLANY

Last night was the first CSS Information night for this year. This marks the beginning of the school application process.

Attached to the newsletter is a forecasting page. Please fill it out and return promptly, this really helps us as we plan for next year.

Next Wednesday is Valentines Day and we’ll have a small party where students may exchange cards. I do ask that if they choose to give valentines, they give them to all the students in the class. Some refreshments would be nice, especially reasonably healthy ones to offset the candy I know they’ll get. If you can supply something let me know.

We are running short of Glue Sticks to use on our multitude of projects. If you can send a few to school they will be used and appreciated.
